The Word of God says that the man who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. (Proverbs 18:22)
The next thirty days we will be spending in prayer for our husbands.
Each day will consist of the following:
Scripture
Meditating on the Word
A Digging Deeper section with some reflection questions on the Scripture
A Prayer for our husbands: one for those whose husbands proclaim Christ
A Challenge to help you with your marriage and prayer life in some manner.
Here is day 6!
Love
This walk is not easy as a Christian woman. Regardless of what the situation is with your own marriage, it is important to demonstrate love to your husband. I can't stress enough how crucial it is that our husbands don’t feel condemned by our words as wives. I can’t tell you how many women I talk to who are frustrated with their husband’s walk spiritually. Yet, they refuse to do anything beyond prayer.
As a wife, regardless of our husband’s spiritual status, we are called to examine ourselves before we criticize our husband. We must be willing to do the work ourselves as well.
A Christian man who feels condemned by his wife does not want to lead. When you hear the words, "Why would I want to lead?" come out of your husband's mouth, it is very eye opening! Also, we have to stop and ask ourselves (those whose husbands are not in Christ), if our actions will help lead him to Christ.
At the end of the day, we are called to glorify God in all that we do, regardless if our husband is doing what he should be.
Scripture
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Meditating on the Word
Think about the Scriptures today. Ask the Lord to help you identify which of these characteristics you may be lacking in demonstrating to your husband. Write these verses on an index card if this will help remind you or set an alarm on your phone to reflect and pray on these things throughout the day.
Digging Deeper
If you are inclined to dig deeper, here are some application questions.
Is there one or more of these characteristics you find more difficult to implement in your marriage? Why? What can you do to improve this?
Can you think of one instance in the past week where you have: been boastful, envious, arrogant, rude, stubborn, irritable, or resentful towards your husband?
What practical steps can you take to cultivate and manifest the kind of love described by Paul (even when we don’t think our husbands deserve it!)?
Prayer for My Husband Today
(For Those Whose Husbands Proclaim Christ)
Dear Heavenly Father,
Today I lift my husband up to You. You know what's going on in our lives: the things we face in our marriage and in our own personal growth, Lord. I pray that Your will be done and You are able to give us peace, rest, and strength in the midst of painful growth. Help me show him Your love Lord and see things I can do differently in the moment Father. Thank you and I love you.
In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Prayer, Option #2
(For those whose husbands are not in Christ)
Dear Heavenly Father,
Today I lift my husband up to You. You know what's going on in our lives: the things we face in our marriage and in our own personal growth, Lord. I pray that Your will be done and You are able to give us peace, rest, and strength in the midst of painful growth. Help me show my husband Your love Lord so that he may come to the saving knowledge of Your Son. Thank You, and I love You.
In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Challenge
Ask your husband to pray with you today, whether together or separately. I want to encourage you to ask him at some point. It is important that your husband knows you are praying for him. It really helps your husband to see the words that you are praying for him. (Firsthand experience!)
I think today is my favorite so far! gotta be above reproach, living to please God, not the world and being accountable for my actions and be pleasing to God. In obedience I pray for God to reveal something of my flaws to improve on and to walk as an ambassador for Christ. I need God to examine MY HEART and show me what I need to work on. Even though we walk as husband and wife, I can only work on me, I surrender the rest to God. I am so close to perfect, but sometimes I might miss a thing or two! 🤣 just kidding... I am full of flaws! no longer a hot mess but mor…
