The Word of God says that the man who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. (Proverbs 18:22)
The next thirty days we will be spending in prayer for our husbands and our marriages.
Each day will consist of the following:
Scripture

A Prayer for our husbands: one for those whose husbands proclaims Christ (blue words in the light pink background on the graphics) and one whose husband is not (light pink words in the green background on the graphics.)
A Challenge to help you with your marriage and prayer life some how
Here is day 2!

As women of God, we are to walk in the righteousness of Christ regardless of our circumstances. As we become more mature in Christ, the more we reflect the loving kindness of God, glorifying Him. (Click here to learn more about what the ancient Hebrew word, “hesed” means.) The more we know God and grow in Him, the more we imitate God’s communicable attributes.
Christ went to the cross because of His loving kindness and loyalty to His people. We see this expressed by Christ Jesus in the high priestly prayer, in John 17. Christ's kindness and mercy toward them, was so unshakable that He endured the very worst that could be devised for Him, so that we could be clothed in his perfect faithfulness and credited with it, (in the eyes of God) as if we lived out Christ’s perfect life ourselves.
We are called to a higher standard despite anyone else's actions. Christ did not die on the cross for us to determine how we treat our husbands based on our husband's behavior. Regardless of the things going on around us or our husband’s behavior, we are called to serve as an ambassador for Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:20-21 says, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Ladies, we are called to be ambassadors for Christ in our homes first!
Here are your instructions for today:
Scripture:
2 Corinthians 5:20-21
Digging Deeper:
If you are inclined to dig deeper, here are some application questions.
Who was talking in 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 and to whom was he talking to?
What is an ambassador? (Hint: You can use cross references and/or look up the word in strong’s!)
How are you an ambassador for Christ in your home?
Are there areas you need to improve on that you need to ask God’s to help you with?
Meditating on the Word
Think about the Scripture today. Ask God to help you identify areas you can improve on as an ambassador for Christ in your home. Write these verses on an index card if this will help remind you or set an alarm on your phone.
Prayer for today:
(For those whose husbands proclaim Christ)
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for choosing my husband for me. Thank You for Your lovingkindness and mercy. I pray that I am able to convey these things to (insert your husband’s name here) today. I pray he can see Your image in me as an ambassador.
Lord, I ask for You to work in my husband's life and increase his desire to grow closer to You. I ask that You increase his desire to serve his household with Your lovingkindess as well, and show him what it means to be an ambassador for You. Lord, I ask you to allow me to be your hands and feet as my husband, marriage, and myself grow in You, Father. Lord, I pray that we can be a light to one another.
Thank you and I love you.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Prayer, Option 2:
(For those whose husbands are not in Christ)
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for choosing my husband for me. Thank You for Your lovingkindness and mercy. I pray that I am able to convey these things to (insert your husband’s name here) today. I pray he can see Your image in me as an ambassador.
Lord, I ask for You to work in my husband's life and give him a desire to know You. I ask that You increase his desire to serve his household and to try and seek what it means to lead. Lord, I ask you to allow me to be your hands and feet as my marriage myself and help my husband grow towards a relationship with You, Father. Lord, I pray that I can be a light to him.
Thank you and I love you.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Challenge
Ask your husband to pray with you today, whether together or separately.
A special thank you to Megan Hartvickson for helping me put this together. I love you!
